10 Ways to Market Your Salon App

You have your new professionally branded Salon App and now it is time to market it. I have listed ten suggestions on how you might get started below and included instructions where necessary.

Before You Get Started Create a Short URL 

I recommend two and have created a couple of worksheets but feel free to explore what is available.

URL shorteners, such as bit.ly and goo.gl are services that help take longer URLs (http://salonadvantage.net/services/salon-app/ ) and transform them into manageable links ( https://goo.gl/NER6nR )  that almost never exceed 20 characters. URL shorteners are not new but their popularity has skyrocketed with the rise of Twitter, which only allows for 140 characters in any message. Text Marketers also use these for Text marketing as they too are keen to keep the number of characters in check and also maintain the congruent message content.

1. Add your App icons and download links to your website

I have attached both logos for iOS and Android to this email. I recommend that you have these uploaded to a prominent position (probably your Home Page) on your website (See example ) The links required are below:

2. Add Shortlinks to your appointment reminders
 
Appointment reminders are a staple tool for professional salons. It is a really simple way of spreading the word to your clients to download your Salon App. You can simply add a shortlink with a brief description to the end of your reminders. Click Here for step by step instructions.
If your client’s are using a Smart Phone (and most will be) when they click the link the logo will be displayed providing a more powerful message. See the example below.

3. Text Campaign to Active Clients
Raise awareness about your Salon App by adding the links either direct to the App Store and Play Store or to the page on your website that displays the App information. Either way you will want to use Short links which are covered at the beginning of this blog.

4. Tweet About Your Salon App
Social Media is a powerful tool. Add a post to Twitter and Facebook adding your shortlink and maybe even a #salonapp to raise awareness and promote sharing. See examples below.

6. Email Your Clients
Run an email campaign promoting your ${Salons.Account Name} Salon App. You are able to export email addresses in CSV format within Salon Advantage. This is the format compatible with most email platforms. The platform we recommend (and use) at Salon Advantage is MailChimp. 7. Add a Message to Your Till Receipt
 
If you are producing till receipts you are able to edit the content at the bottom of the receipt. This is an ideal space to market you Salon App. Click Here for instructions.

8. Place Notices around your Salon.
A less technical opportunity but an opportunity nevertheless! Get some notices printed and position then around the salon so that your clients can see them.

10. Ask Your Clients to Download Your App
 
The power of asking for something can never be under estimated. Download your app to your own phone and tell clients about it and if they are interested show them.
 
I hope that you find these suggestions useful and that very soon many of your clients are carrying your Salon Brand around on their phones. Each time they book or communicate with you via your Salon App is a time that you or your team are not leaving an existing client to look after them, and of course you are now open for appointments 24/7 and they just need to take you out of their pocket or bag to get in touch.
