January can be a tricky time of year, business can drop off after Christmas.
The Tax Man is calling and to add insult to injury your favourite suppliers are coming up with amazing opportunities… If only there was a little more cash to go round.

Gift Card Upgrades
Michael Todd, a very successful salon owner (and a good mate of mine) is continually pushing his business forward using exciting marketing approaches. He gets some extraordinary results and he and his team put real energy into each campaign.

Last year Michael and his team ran an offer to top up gift card purchases with an extra 20% during January. The results were so powerful they they are running it again this year and things have started pretty well.
“It’s simple, we sell a gift card at the transaction price then edit the value by adding the free amount. Our clients love it!”
Several clients have loaded several hundred pounds onto their gift cards. Apart from the obvious cash incentive this also ties clients into visiting more often and for longer.
Double Loyalty Points
Give your clients double loyalty points during January! This is a great way for your clients get something of real value by visiting perhaps a little sooner than they would normally. If you run a scheme where clients are getting points for each pound spent this will encourage them to enjoy higher value services and also perhaps steer them towards retail.
Upgrade selected services with free retail products.
You may have excess stock left over after christmas. Upgrading your clients with the correct home care is a wonderful enticement. Clients are encouraged to try something new and if they love the products convert them to buying it on a regular basis.
You get to fill space in your appointment book and clients get a new years treat!
